KCM 2000 GROUP Awarded KCM Scholarships To Distinguished Students
On the day marking the beginning of the school year, KCM 2000 GROUP awarded KCM Scholarship to the six most successful candidates from various engineering fields such as Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Equipment, Electronics, Automation, Chemistry and Physics.
The winners of the competition received a grant of 400 BGN, which will be paid monthly within one academic year.
"The scholarship was established last year by a decision of the Board of Directors. We are convinced that with our help you will be better students when given the opportunity. Knowledge is at the heart of development and we believe that through it Bulgaria will be able to take a leading place in the science market,” Rumen Tsonev, CEO of KCM 2000 GROUP, welcomed the winners.
KCM began the tradition with the establishment of the KCM Scholarship. "This scholarship is not creating engagement towards us. It is a gesture to young people pursuing higher education with a preference for engineering and technological majors, chemistry, physics and biology. It is very important for us that people find work in the area of their academic knowledge because the time in the university are quite difficult and it is not easy to complete a technical major in particular. This is the most important thing, and to make it happen, financial support is needed to be able to focus on their studies", added Rumen Tsonev.
The KCM Scholarship program was announced on the day celebrating Bulgarian education and culture, that is May 24. All applicants completed three evaluation stages after submitting their application.
The motivational essays on the optional theme "My path to success with KCM" or "21st Century Metallurgy" were evaluated by a committee composed of management and engineering staff of the metallurgical holding.
As a final stage of the competition, a committee consisting of Mariana Gurkopashova, CHRO, Plamen Semerdzhiev, Director of Finance and Stefan Stoychev, Director Production, held an interview with the applicants.
Six candidates from three Bulgarian universities, namely HTMU - Sofia, TU - Sofia and Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" from different engineering majors, as well as a candidate with a profile "Chemistry and Biology", have successfully presented themselves. Among the scholarship recipients, a distinguished student in Mechanical Engineering in Germany excelled.
KCM 2000 GROUP will continue to stimulate and invest in young people's self-esteem through the KCM Scholarship. This is one of the many projects funded by KCM in the field of education.
