The realization of the project will enable in the zinc production variety of concentrates to be processed. The project is fully funded by the enterprise.

"With this project we become less sensitive to the quality of the raw materials we receive for processing, and this is a significant competitive advantage. We are importing raw materials from more than 14-15 sources. We do not possess an own mine that could secure a 100% raw material supply; we always mix the raw materials in order to reach acceptable levels of micro impurities within the incoming materials flow. Now we are achieving relative raw materials independence. "In a world where access to raw materials is becoming more and more difficult, we must be prepared to process poor-quality raw materials," commented Mr. Rumen Tsonev – Executive Manager of "KCM 2000 Group" in an interview with Capital. By incorporating new capacities in the production process, the company is achieving a higher technological level of automation and digitization.

It is a company’s established practice, new large projects to be implemented without stopping the existing production. In this case, the implementation was slower, but risks were avoided and there was a time for training. The company has estimated that there is sufficiently qualified staff and  no one needed to be trained  outside.

"The current project is part of our big project TORP (" Technology Renewal and Production Expansion "), which completes all the technologies we have implemented in the Zinc Plant in recent years. And finally by the end of this summer the new purification system will replace the existing one. ", said Mr.  Rumen Tsonev.

The company has bought machinery from Spain, France and Germany. "I could define this project as one of the most KCM projects because most of the projects stages were realized by us and so we could appreciate it as one of our non-risk projects, as far as our practice shows that very often the risk is outside the KCM," Mr. Tsonev commented.
