BAMI contributed to the organization of an informal meeting of Working Party ‘Trade Questions’ – one of the important events within the framework of the Bulgarian EU Presidency chaired by the Ministry of Economy and participated with its representatives
As a part of the program of the Ministry of Economy for events under the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council an informal meeting of trade experts from all member states and EC representatives took place at the National Palace of Culture.
BAMI and Stomana Industry AD as the main sponsor supported the event’s organization. In accordance with the program adopted by the Ministry and the Bulgarian Presidency on April 26, 2018 in the afternoon there was a visit to Stomana Industry AD for all delegations. At premises of the company the guests were informed about the technologies and capacities for the production of steel and steel products, the investments made the sustainable development programs and its social policies. The attendees had the opportunity to look at modern capacities for production of long products (the Daniele line). In the evening in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant the company gave an official dinner for all guests.
The topic discussed during the informal meeting of the WP ‘Trade Questions’ was related to the US trade defense policy for EU strategic sectors. Representatives of the European Business (Eurofer and Eurometal) and of Bulgarian metallurgical enterprises (Metalko Bulgaria, Alcomet and Stomana Industry) attended the discussion.
